Tranche Scholarship 2025 Winner — Jason Barratt
Congratulations to our Executive Chef, Jason Barratt, on receiving the 2025 Tranche Scholarship. A program investing in future leaders of wine and hospitality, it gives Jason the chance to travel, learn and bring that knowledge home to Australia.
Jason honed his skills at some of Australia’s most celebrated restaurants, including Attica, Stokehouse, Rae’s on Wategos and Paper Daisy at Halcyon House, and co-founded cult sandwich shop Hector’s Deli.
With a deep passion for sustainable seafood, Jason will use the Tranche Scholarship to stage at some of the world’s most progressive seafood restaurants and visit California-based non-profits, FishWise and Seafood Watch. His journey will explore how restaurants and countries around the world are tackling shared environmental and ethical challenges — insights he’ll bring home to shape his cooking and leadership.
We’re proud to see Jason recognised on this global scale, and excited for all that his experiences will inspire here at home.
