Join us on Thursday 21 November to celebrate the launch of Tony Tan's new cookbook, Asian Cooking Class.

Renowned for his expertise in the diverse cuisines of Asia—encompassing the rich traditions of Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand—Tony will be joined by Supernormal's executive chef, Jason Barratt, to cook an exclusive four-course dinner in our private dining room. 

The menu highlights some of Tony's treasured recipes, offering a unique glimpse into his culinary journey.

On the night, we’ll host a Q&A session with Tony, giving him the opportunity to share anecdotes and insights about his experiences and his new book. Signed copies will also be available for purchase during the evening.


Tickets are $120 per person. Beverages will be available for purchase on consumption.

About Tony Tan

Tony is a celebrated chef, culinary educator, and author known for his deep appreciation of Asian cuisines. Born in Kuantan, Malaysia, to Hainanese immigrant parents, Tony’s culinary journey began with a vibrant tapestry of flavours that shaped his formative years. Influenced by the diverse culinary traditions of his Malay, Peranakan, and Indian-Tamil neighbours, he developed a passion for cooking that has continued to evolve throughout his life.

Over time spent in Australia, the UK, and France, Tony has embarked on a continuous journey of learning and exploration through his studies in history, language, and food. Tony trained at prestigious institutions such as La Varenne in France and Leith’s School of Food and Wine in the UK, and has owned acclaimed restaurants, including the innovative Tatlers Café in Sydney. Additionally, he established a highly respected cooking school in Toorak, Melbourne, which was ranked among the best globally. Now based in Trentham, Victoria, Tony offers cooking classes that inspire and cultivate the skills of the next generation of chefs.
